Amit Singh
Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announces today that Amit Singh has joined the Firm as a partner and co-head of the Firm’s Southern California Venture Technology group. He focuses on venture capital and private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, technology transactions, and general corporate law for companies whose core value derives from intellectual property, and will be resident in the San Diego and Los Angeles offices.
Immediately prior to joining Dentons, Singh was a shareholder in private practice where he focused on venture capital and private equity transactions; mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures; intellectual property sale and licensing transactions; and general corporate law. He has over two decades of experience counseling early- and later-stage companies and investors in a broad range of industries, including life sciences, software, hardware, communications and networking, internet, manufacturing and distribution, and medical devices.
“Amit is an excellent addition to our Southern California team,” said Dentons US CEO Mike McNamara. “His skillset and entrepreneurial drive will enable us to provide even greater service to the transactional needs of our life sciences and technology clients.”
“Amit’s addition to our Southern California offices will accelerate the rapid strategic growth of our global team throughout the US. We are most excited that Amit joins us on the heels of recent expansion in other critical tech hubs of Salt Lake City, Pittsburgh and Vancouver, further cementing our client service position,” said global Venture Tech chair Victor Boyajian. “We are confident this continued West Coast growth in tech and life sciences talent further enhances our commitment to venture capital and PE firms, entrepreneurs and more mature companies in the sector focused on global expansion.”
Singh has represented managers and investors in the formation of venture capital, private equity and hedge funds. After a fund is formed, he often continues to add value as outside general counsel to the fund, assisting its managers in the fund’s transactions and advising on issues that arise throughout the life of the fund.
Singh earned his LLM in corporate law from the New York University School of Law, his JD from the University of California Hastings College of Law and his BS from San Jose State University.
