San Diego-Based Firm Names Dennis Mitchell New Regional VP, Portland

Expanding its footprint throughout the west, Sunrise Management – which has specialized in the management of residential real estate since 1978 – has opened a new Portland office and tapped Dennis Mitchell to take charge as regional vice president.

In his new role, Mitchell will concentrate on increasing the San Diego-based firm’s Portland market share – directing long-term marketing, strategic planning, operations and day-to-day activities.

Mitchell has over 13 years of multifamily and commercial property management in both the private and public sectors and was most recently the regional manager for Avenue5 Residential in Portland, including mixed-use developments comprised of 1,500 residential units as well as retail. In that role, he oversaw eight properties – spearheading client management, budgeting, market analysis, strategy development and recruitment.

According to Joe Greenblatt, CEO and president of Sunrise Management, Portland is a vital and growing market, and Mitchell is well equipped to lead Sunrise’s expansion into the region. “We are very excited to have Dennis join our team to help expand our Northwest operations,” said Greenblatt. “With a solid knowledge of the Portland market, he is skilled in many facets of the real estate industry including budgeting, facility management, multifamily and commercial property management, and management/building of large complex teams and will be a valuable asset to our team.”

Mitchell holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an M.B.A from Western Governor’s University in Washington.A licensed designated real estate broker in Arizona and Washington and a principal broker in Oregon, he is an accredited residential manager (ARM) by the Institute for Real Estate Management (IREM).
