SmartAsset released a new study on the best places to work in tech. We looked at factors including the average salary of tech workers, the percentage of the total workforce employed in tech and the cost of living to identify the top U.S. metro areas for tech workers to live and work.

According to SmartAsset's new study analyzing the 50 largest metro areas, the San Diego-Carlsbad area ranks as the 22nd-best place to work in tech.
